Sun-drenched diaries

Describe your ideal summer afternoon.
I like to start with a long walk to get my body moving and find a good rhythm, or sometimes I’ll go on a hike or book a pilates class with a friend! After that, it’s straight to the beach for the rest of the day. I lay out in the sun, read, swim (if the water’s warm enough), and just relax with friends. I always keep my Daily Sun Shield SPF close since I’m usually outside most of the day.
I love hosting friends and cooking nourishing meals together. There’s something special about chopping veggies, swapping recipes, and sharing laughs in the kitchen. Sitting down to eat afterward feels even more meaningful when we’ve all had a hand in creating it.
If the sun’s out, I’m outside too. I like to soak up every last bit of daylight, whether it’s during a hike or quietly watching the sunset wrapped in a blanket. It’s my favorite way of closing out the day.
What's in your beach bag?
I’m all about keeping it simple. When I head to the beach, I bring just the essentials: my favorite sunnies, Saltyface Daily Sun Shield SPF, fruit, snacks, a good book, beach towel, and if I’m feeling creative, my camera.

What’s your dream sun-drenched vacation spot?
Honestly, Australia has been at the top of my bucket list for a while. I went there for a month on a mission trip, so it holds a special place in my heart. This time, I’d love to stay in the summer and stay in a cozy bungalow, finally get good at surfing, explore the coast and eat fresh fruit barefoot all day!!
How are you incorporating movement into your day?
My favorite way to move is by going on hikes. I have a couple of go-to trails in Laguna that I love. Lately, I’ve also started adding pilates a few times a week, combined with weight training, and honestly, I’ve been feeling amazing.
I also founded a community called Malibu Cowgirl Club where I host wellness experiences throughout southern california that give girls the opportunity to connect while nurturing the well-being of their mind, body, and soul, together.
What’s your effortless go-to outfit?
Hmm… linen pants, a lace tank with a cozy sweater, and Birks. The fun thing about southern California is you can wear this combo year-round. It’s easy, comfy, and always works.
Is there a book that you’re currently reading, or love going back to?
I’m currently reading The Process by Ben Abernathy —“The season of your life where Jesus becomes everything.” It was gifted to me by a friend, and it’s so good. Highly recommend if you’re in a season of growth.
What’s the key to starting your day off right?
My ideal day starts the second I wake up, I head straight outside barefoot with a glass of water and electrolytes in hand. I take time to ground myself in the grass and soak in the morning sun. Then I spend time with Jesus. In prayer, worship, or just sitting with Him and journaling. It’s the most peaceful part of my morning and sets the tone for everything that follows. It helps me move through the day with clarity and intention.
