This photo is the only place you can see where the tan stops and my pasty skin starts - even then you REALLY have to look. I got light/medium and first time did my face with the tanning water and brush - sprayed my face and then used brush then because I’m used to the pigmented ones you see upon application I went back with spray on the brush and went over my face again - next day it was 3 shades darker than my skin. Good but too much for winter when everyone else is pasty. It wore off (after 7days) and I did tanning water on my face (also used it for hands) then did the foam on my body. I really focused on one layer and wow … beautiful natural glow. Typical self tanners make you go from white to exotic tan overnight. This is one that just takes away your paleness - if you want darker then you have to go over it with a few layers. Almost odorless. I got a whiff of the “self tan” smell occasionally but nothing compared to what others smell like. I also love that the bottles are glass and you can order a refill bottle vs a whole new dispenser. LOVE and will continue to use.

This tanning set is awesome but one detail worth noting, especially for the face tanning water, is to apply your moisturizer before applying the tanning solution. If you flip the process the product can turn orange/yellowy on your skin. Also, though the tanning solution is technically non-scented I feel like I smell like a russet potato until I shower after the application. Probably the natural ingredients!

The lighter formula is almost a little too light, not a very noticeable difference with the first application, but I appreciate that it is buildable and not too dark right away.
It doesn’t last for more than a day or so, but very happy I haven’t had any breakouts using it on my face.
Looking forward to continuing to use it going into Summer.

I was sooooo nervous trying out Saltyface. I am VERY pale and have had a handful of times I’ve tried professional spray tans or a spray tanner I did myself at home. All of them have been far to day and orange for me and even when I tried a buildup lotion it too was patchy.
So far I’m blown away with this product! It applies evenly and the videos for application were so helpful! It’s not too dark or orange! Even applying twice within two days it was a perfect warming tone! Love love love it!!!

I bought light to medium tanning set. I have only tried the one for the face. I am pretty happy with the tan It gives me. I wore it on vacation after a day under the sun. It is very subtle. Now back at home, I still use twice a week and it keeps my tan alive.

I love this product, it is now a part of my skin routine. I re-apply every two days but I hot tub regularly. If I am not hottubbing, then 3 days is good. Every 2 days for the face as I use retinol regularly. I wear white alot and I never have staining from the product. So worth it.

You have to get used to it, but it’s nice once you do. I always wipe off my eyebrows after applying (4-6 sprays only). Otherwise, my eyebrows go really orange and it’s embarrassing. Even a little bit darkens your skin enough to make your teeth look whiter, which is probably the best effect. If you have blonde hair, use a toner — your skin, hair and teeth will all be turned up a notch.

It definitely gives you a good glow and I was able to evenly apply it on my face and my body (after a few tries). I don’t love that the recommendation is light-medium and build up the coverage. Doesn’t last long enough to really build up the tan, I would have to do it twice in a day to build the tan up to where I want just to have to do it again in another few days. I’ll definitely keep using the light-medium, it doesn’t make me orange and I definitely have a natural looking glow. I think they should just provide more images of both shades on various skin tones so people can properly choose what’s right for them!

The body tanner is fantastic, stays on for at least 5-6 days. And the deep tan is perfect. However the face tan water only lasts about a day, never more. I even tried purchasing the darker tan water to see if it’ll last longer, but lasts only a day maximum.

I've been using the foaming body tan and the tanning water for a couple months and I love the results every time. I'm quite pale and I can only burn when I sit in the sun so I've been looking for a good tanning product for a long time. It's like the perfect shade of tan for me, and I've recently started doubling up on the application for a deeper tan. Doesn't rub off onto sheets or clothing, I even purposely slept with white sheets the first time because I didn't believe it and woke up to nothing rubbed off! The only things that aren't perfect is that it has a pretty strong (not bad) smell and it's hard to blend out the tan on your hands/wrists and ankles. I recommend using a tanning application mitt because it does stain your palms a little too dark. All in all I love the product, will definitely be buying more next summer!

My 2nd summer rockin my Saltyface tan & lovin it! I’m very pale & didn’t have much experience using self tanner prior to trying S.F. but I really appreciate how beginner friendly it is & SO natural looking. Really love the packaging, branding & amber bottles. Application of the foam is pretty easy, I noticed a change in colour after the first application, loved the tone. I'm still figuring out how often to reapply. The tanning water is lovely and light, and I love the feeling of the brush. Sometimes the water runs down my arms and I notice my elbows turned a bit orange haha. Same with my knees or less exfoliated areas. Overall, really enjoy the product and feels luxurious! I love this product, love the packaging and branding so much.. love that there isn't a strong scent and honestly have not seen any transfer. The tanning water specifically has been amazing for my face, not only does it not make me break out but it makes my skin look and feel amazing! I wish the colour was a bit more natural, I find that it is still quite orangey and still looks fake. However, still a more natural looking option then everything else on the market!!

Honestly disappointed after everything I have read. Using daily and just a hint of colour with the face product, but after a full week my skin so dried out had to stop. The foam for body works pretty well, i moisturize like crazy but again it’s drying. I have other tanning products that cost far less and were a lot more effective.

I really like the tanning water for the face and body! My face glows after I use it and has a nice natural tint. The body tanner I got in medium to dark so next time I might try the lighter version. It still looked like a nice summer tan and I got compliments but I put it on overnight so it was definitely noticeable the next day. I had no issues with dry skin or flakiness which was a big deal breaker from using Beauty by Earth, Jergens, and spray tans in the past once the tan was fading away after about a week. I think by day 5 it was time to start reapplying the body tanner to keep the same level of tan throughout. All in all, I highly recommend this product!

As hard as I try to evenly apply the tanning foam, there are still parts that streak. Even after one or two days of wear, it comes off in the shower. Sadly the tanning water is no better as any face cleaner and toner takes it off the face :(

This is my first time using a tanning product so this is a very honest review.
I liked the product because it is very easy to use and straightforward. It does give me a nice glow although I’m not sure if it is my undertones but on my skin the tan does develop a little orange which was intense for the first day but slowly faded to a tone that made more sense for my complexion. I naturally have olive skin that tans easily in the sun. I used one “dropper-full” for my face (the dropper itself is unable to fill to the very top, so I admittedly was winging what they indicated as one dropper full) and several pumps of the foam for each part of my body.
The product does have an odour. It is not strong by any means, especially in comparison to other tanning products from what I have read but there is a lingering smell especially with the tanning foam for the body. If you choose not to shower it off, it will leave a bit of a sticky residue on the skin that remains until the next day.
I did not experience any break outs from the product which I greatly appreciate. I would recommend this product over all, especially for first time users.

Love this tanning water and tanning foam. For the face I really like applying with the spray bottle top and the brush. Makes it easy to do a light application and blend. The foam is great for legs and body. I buff ankles, knees, elbows and wrists with a dry cloth right after applying. I am very very fair skinned and this looks so natural. It's just subtle and takes me from looking sickly pale to giving me a little bit of colour. Love how it goes on - no stickiness, no residue. Love that it's not got any weird ingredients. It's a winner for me!!

Absolutely in LOVE with the tanning foam & tanning water! The mist nozzle made for an effortless and even application on my face, and the bristles from the brush are soft on the skin. I used a mitt to apply the foam to my body, which really ensured I hit every spot. The results were fast and looked very natural- no orange tint or splotchy areas at all!
I also loved that the products were scentless and didn’t stain any of my clothes or bed sheets. This is just what I was looking for to get a glowy tan for my bachelorette, bridal shower, and wedding day! Suddenly I am a tan girl and it is amazing! I have always been pale but once I became ill with a chronic illness, it was so much more than just pale. I was ready to have some colour and decided I would give SaltyFace a try. I was skeptical but it seemed legitimate. It arrived promptly with nice packaging, I do wish the instructions were written instead of video format.
